Photo dump

Nothing really all that new has happened lately, but there are several pictures that haven't been shared yet. Thought I'd put them up with a little background to each.

Echo likes to sleep like a human. Head on a pillow or something resembling one. I don't consider a laundry pile similar to a pillow, but to a puppy, I guess it does.

In her kennel, however, she prefers to chew. We had originally given her a towel that we would keep bunched up like a pile of laundry for her. She annihilated it. A month or so later, we tried putting her bed in the kennel. This is what happened after 5 hours. She had never chewed on her bed in the living room.

Instead of a normal run, we went to the baseball fields one day for sprints, lunges, situps, etc. Echo tries to herd us when we run, so our sprint races were difficult until she found a baseball. We threw her ball one direction and took off running the other direction. Check out this video of her chase here. The video isn't showing up very well on YouTube. I don't know why. You can tell on the phone that when she diverts from the chase, it's because she dropped her ball and went after it. Luckily for me she dropped her ball.

We finally found sushi that was cheaper than Iowa. We have had some great sushi here, but this was the first that was as cheap as we expected from a state on the ocean. There were four of us, and this was our table. This was the most sushi we'd ever ordered at once, and the cheapest we've ever paid. What a deal! The pictures of their rolls were deceiving. We ordered more than we needed because the pictures made the rolls look small, explaining the cheap prices on the menu. What a shock when all of this showed up. They probably were laughing at us in the kitchen, saying "They must not be from around here, ordering so much."

Yesterday, I got to spend the day in Napa at a golf course for work. It was a bio-pharma company golf outing, where contractors, subcontractors and clients in the medical world all got together for golf/wine tours. The event does both since there are some who don't golf. The Skanska-Genentech team sent a handful of golfers, a handful of wine tourers, and 3 Project Engineers(including myself) to man the Sponsor booth. Sponsor booths were at different holes throughout the course, interacting with all of the players and promoting Skanska. Before teeing off at hole 3, the players would stop at our tent to chat with us. For the time in between visitors we had a football to play catch. Several golfers joined in as they waited to tee off, as we were a bottle neck point at the course because we were the 3rd of 3 consecutive par 3 holes. For non-golfers, that means that we were the last of 3 easy holes in a row, and players finished the holes ahead of us quicker than the teams could finish the one ahead of us.

Last, but most definitely not least, here is an adorable video of Echo while I was at the Napa golf outing. Nick says she was staring him down and barking at him for 10 minutes before this video. We have to be careful not to teach her that word too well, but this was just too cute.
