Echo's first night was sleepless. She thought 2 am was play time. She got quite a bit braver at 2 am. Exploring the apartment on her own, even if I was out of sight. She also tried to kill her gazelle plush toy by shaking it vigorously. Funniest moment of the night, though, was when she chewed on the gazelle's foot and it squeaked. It was the first time she caused it to squeak and she jumped. Adorable.
This morning we did obedience before breakfast. 7-10 min of sit and down and name recognition. Then she got breakfast as a reward right after! She eats really fast, just like her Uncle Max. She gives herself the hiccups so I pull her away from time to time to breathe.
This afternoon we put her collar on for good. She hates it and Nick keeps saying he wants to liberate her. After several hours, though, she has started ignoring it. Funny enough, the same Nick wanting to save her from the collar is the guy who won't let me take her out of the kennel when she cries. He says, "she just has to get used to it". In the end, she is getting used to the collar and kennel.
In non-puppy news, turns out the DMV is not any better in California than any other state. They aren't open Saturday or Sunday. They open at 8 and close by 5 on weekdays. They have horrific waits, unless you have an appointment. To get an appt, you have to be on hold for an hour and a half, or get on the call back list. Then they tell you the earliest appt date is March 1, so just be a walk in!!!! Grr. Our car insurance has to switch in February, and I was informed I have to have a California license for the cheapest option for insurance quotes. Of course. So that will have to happen soon.
I wrote this from my phone, which is a pain with this blog site, so please forgive any blatant spelling or grammar errors.
Good night all!
